The Book Blurb

What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Especially when you wake up married to your best friend.

Waking up beside my best friend after a crazy night in Vegas is nothing new.

However, waking up wearing nothing but two shiny, matching wedding rings is.

For the girl who promised to never settle down, it's her worst nightmare.

For me, it's a dream come true.

I've wanted Raelynn Vos since she first propositioned me at a frat party. I, of course, turned her down, knowing I'd need more than a one night stand. Nothing less than forever would do.

She's fierce and determined, but I'm more determined than she could ever be.

When fate forces us to pretend our marriage is real, I use every second to prove I'm the perfect man to tame her wildness.

In fact, by the end of our charade, I'll have her begging for it.

My Review

There are far too many Marriage in Vegas stories, yet it still manages to carve out its own place. The dynamic between Raelynn and Austin as best friends is very different, which I adored. It provided me with a sense of normalcy.

The years-long friendship between Raelynn and Austin began with desire but has always remained a friendship. Raelynn flies to Vegas to attend her friend's wedding after breaking up with her abusive boyfriend but ends up married to her closest friend, Austin. Everyone is aware of their marriage before they are aware of it. Rea just had a relationship that gave her a clear view into her long-held aim of never committing, so she simply wants this marriage to be annulled. But, Austin held onto the marriage even if it was an accident. Marriage means a lot to him, and now he is married to the woman he always dreamed of. Both aren't aware of each other's reasons for holding so much power over their decisions. Austin realizes that this is his one and only chance to show his feelings to Rae. Rae knows her complex feelings, and this marriage will destroy their long-standing friendship.

Rae and Austin have the craziest, wild, and insane chemistry. To me, the story is too brief. I'm willing to take more of them. Their friendship is fantastic, too open, yet they still have their own private area. Austin has a hidden depth and has been pining for Raelynn for a long time, but Rae is carefree, wild, and full of life.

This is my first time reading this series or Fiona Cole's novel, yet I don't feel like I'm missing out. I want to read more in the book because of the girls' relationship and their incredible bond. The ending is predictable, yet it still holds your attention.

Blame it on the Vodka is a fast-paced, steamy, dramatic, and emotionally driven story that will leave you smiling, crying, laughing, and getting goosebumps at every turn. This book is a perfect friend-to-lover romance with too much fire of Rae and too much hotness of Austin.
