The Book Blurb

Here comes the bride…filled with hopes and happiness
After a bitter experience in her past, Rhea Sehgal has deliberately stayed away from love, until Nirvaan Kapur comes crashing into her life. Her attraction to him was instant. His intense and forthright nature called to the wounded part of her soul. Being with him was easy, falling in love with him…easier, and marrying him—that was a dream come true or so she thought.

Here comes the groom…filled with lies and deception
Gaming legend Nirvaan Kapur always gets what he wants, and what he wants is Rhea Sehgal. She was responsible for the death of someone very close to him and he’s vowed to make her pay. Making her fall for him was the first step. His plan was simple—marry her and thus destroy her dreams of happily ever after. It was supposed to be easy, until Rhea turns the tables on him. She declares war on him, one which she intends to win at all costs.

He thought he’d win this battle of wills. But when sizzling attraction and white-hot chemistry come into play, even the best laid plans go awry.
The road to love, however, is not easy, and sometimes one has to let go of the past, believe in the present, and trust your own heart to have a happy future.
Will Rhea and Nirvaan find happiness or will forces working against them manage to destroy their love just when they find their way to one another?

My Review

Moving from her haunted past, Rhea wants just one thing—to make her husband fall in love with her and clear the air between them. Nirvaan married Rhea to punish her for destroying one thing he loved the most. When the attraction begins to play, steel-strong plans crumpled into the floor. If the decision changes, the consequences are more dangerous than a loveless marriage.

The plot of this novel is older, yet the author uses her abilities to keep it fresh, unique, and engaging. In the first novel, Take a Chance on Me, Rhea hooks me with her rebellious character. Rhea doesn't let me down in this book either and is as strong as the others in the series. Even after knowing everything, her determination to give her marriage another shot is admirable.

Nirvaan in the previous book was far more different than in this book. I liked him more for his rules and morals, even for taking revenge. I define this book as sweet revenge. Nirvaan gives me the vibe of real people all around us with alternative motives.

This book's ending takes time, lingers in between, and takes longer to forgive, unlike Mehak's book. Rhea's trust issues, doubts, and confusion about forgiveness provide a more grounded connection with her and reality. The twist was foreseeable, yet several aspects still caught me off guard.

This book has given me even more reason to adore Rithwik. In "Breaking All the Rules," Rohan drew my attention because of his backstory. I was delighted to see him in this novel, and he once again grabbed my full attention. I can't wait to read his book.

The repetition of the same terms, such as husband and wife, irritates me. It had me at first, but it was simply too much for me. And some phrases are repeated in their brains and their narrative as well. It's tedious to read the exact thing again and again.

Every Breath You Take is filled with a magnificent storyline, enchanting romances, hilarious banter between friends and siblings, and a spectacular happy ending.

Best Quotes of Every Breath You Take

War was easy to begin, but very hard to stop.
Love wasn’t a choice… It was a calling in the deepest part of your soul, a deep knowing when you meet someone for the first time that this person would change your life forever. Love was an ownership.
Every relationship needs work and commitment. It’s never easy to be in love because what is love if not acceptance. You accept your partner’s wrongs along with their rights and yet you choose to stay with them, because no one in this world is perfect. We are, however, perfect to the one who loves us.
What’s meant to happen will happen, no matter how hard we wish we could have done something to change it.
