The Book Blurb

My Review
Kate wonderfully recounts the anguish and the emotional suffering and survival of the nurses in COVID-19 in exquisite detail. It makes you question your thoughts, behavior, and ignorance towards the frontline workers. Some stories are heartbreaking, some are eye-opening, and some teach you a life lesson that you will remember for the rest of your life.
In a short amount of time, this novel transports me back to the terrifying days of the epidemic. I was aware of the general situation in other nations at the time, but reading from the perspective of nurses provides me with minute nuances of dread and sorrow that affect more than one country. We respect and honor doctors, but in the midst of it all, we forget to treat them fairly: the one person who has always served as a bridge between patients and doctors.
I read this book in a matter of hours and truly liked every minute of it. I am a pretty selective nonfiction reader, and I was impressed with the work in this book. I am not familiar with medical terminology, and the author explains even the smallest terms that help me grasp the plot and easily connect with the characters.
Recommendation
- If you enjoy reading nurses' perspectives on real-life incidents.
- If you want to read a book about COVID-19, this is the one to get.
- A perfect fit for new readers.
