The Book Blurb

You can run, you can hide, but you can’t escape the past!

VJ Bellani, cop extraordinaire, is a man with many secrets. When circumstances force him to protect the enemy’s daughter, he takes up the assignment with an eye at finally laying the past to rest and perhaps even extracting vengeance. What he did not expect was Diya Thakur!

Rebelling against her extremely conservative family, Diya Thakur moved to Mumbai to build a career in fashion design. Her dreams of living a free life are dashed when they hire a bodyguard to watch over her—and to spy on her for them, at least that’s what she suspects.

Forced to be together 24X7, VJ and Diya make no effort to hide their contempt for one another. The battle lines are drawn early, but destiny has a way of interfering even with the best laid plans.

Can something as simple as love change everything, especially when revenge has been the primary motive for so long? Will VJ finally claim his past in order to claim her?

My Review

Living on the Edge by Sapna Bhog takes one step ahead in this series. This book is entirely different from the books in this series, with secrets, twist-turns, and a build-up of tension towards the conclusion.

The novel begins with a bang and manages to astound me until the very end. Every chapter starts with VJ's lines, and as a lover of quotes, it has a special place in my heart.

VJ Bellani is an ACP tasked with protecting Diya, his enemy's daughter. He is a man of few words who keeps many secrets about his life hidden. Diya is a diva in her world and has spent a long time battling for her freedom. Diya's parents now want her to have a bodyguard. They're both seeking weaknesses in each other. Who will be the first to locate it?

I had previously read about both of them in prior novels. The heated arguments between the VJ and Diya are more intense, humorous, and bring this novel to life, and the chemistry is incredible. I like how the author builds VJ's character. Although there are just a few scenes between the friends, the plot is so intriguing that it kept my attention on current events. The finale, which surprised me, is the best part of the novel. There are a lot of new characters, yet it doesn't feel overwhelming. VJ and Diya as a pair have my heart.

Sapna Bhog writes her works in simple and lucid language while maintaining the book's attractiveness. I'm excited to read Rishi's book now.
