The Book Blurb

A fatal bond that was never meant to be.

Marcella gave Maddox the impossible choice, and he chose her.
Still, she wonders if Maddox is ready to commit to a relationship, or if he’s scared of losing the uninhibited freedom his biker lifestyle offered him.

All his life Maddox knew who his enemies were, but suddenly he’s at a loss whom to trust. Will he ever find a place in Marcella’s life and family, or will old companions give him a new home and purpose?

Can enemies ever truly become lovers if the odds are against them?

My Review

By Sin I Rise, the rich storyline with the old characters. The story starts at a slow pace and progresses faster towards the end. The book is entirely different from any other book in Cora's Mafia world. Reilly writes her mafia world that doesn't let you escape from it.

Marcella strives to balance her old and new life after escaping from captivity. She loses her heart to her father's enemy and fights with her family for Maddox. But she is unsure if he can give up on his freedom. Marcella had always wished for love like her parents. Is Maddox the right man for her? Maddox opted to stay with Marcella rather than abandon his biker lifestyle. Her family, on the other hand, wanted him to die. Maddox, who has never been bound to anyone and has always despised Marcella's father, is bold enough to commit to Marcella and work for his arch-enemy.

Marcella again takes center stage in this book. The effect of captivity and confusion of feelings gives the reality view. Marcella is marvelous in her rise. Marcella does what Dante hopes and Remo wishes to do. That is the point I love the most.

Even after choosing Marcella, Maddox is more conflicted than before. If the first book shows the strength of Marcella, then this book shows Maddox's struggles. The bond between Maddox and Growl is unexpected but yet pleasantly delightful.

This book is more about the relationships and trust-building of Marcella and Maddox and every person who revolves around them. Every lingering thought that remains from the previous series is made thoroughly clear in this book. Giana came back with full force, and Amo didn't leave any chance to not think about his future book. Every old character is the hook for this book.

This novel is primarily about family issues, with a dash of mafia added. I'd be more excited if I read this section in the first book. This book has no significant mafia events either: only the evolution and changes in the Famiglia, loyalty, and trust. Marcella and Maddox's emotional connection seems to be absent. This novel has more space, but fewer characters appear.

Overall, this book impresses you with a fresh, catchy storyline, social battle, twists, thrilling events, and hilarious banter with a happy ending.

If you want to live by your own rules, you just have to make sure you can live with the backlash.
Nobody can hurt you with thoughts or words if you don’t let them.
Love doesn’t exist in a void, it has to withstand outside influences, some of which won’t be in its favor. Love isn’t always enough.
If anything could conquer seemingly insurmountable differences then it was love.
We’ve all made mistakes that hurt others, it comes with the world we live in. We can only make sure that we don’t hurt the people we love.
