My Review
This book was enjoyable to read. From the cover to the plot, this book is eye candy. It is a perfect mix of the cowboy, small-town romance, and slow burn in a short length.
Avery started her first-ever music tour but was struck on the deserted road of a small town in a thunderous storm with an upcoming disaster. A disaster arrives in the form of a tall and handsome cowboy, Jackson, to save her whole team, but he becomes angry with them the moment he realizes that the entire team must stay in his house. One week is needed for a new bus to come, and Avery willingly helps Jackson in all his ranch work. Jackson doesn’t want a woman in her life, and Avery fought hard to leave her small town for her dreams. However, when they learn more about one another, they realize how wrong they were in judging one another. A storm of emotion erupts when Avery leaves for her tour, and Jackson is the one who throws her out of his house without saying goodbye.
I love the warmth that this book holds. The length of this novel is short, yet it allows you to connect with every moment of tension and slow-burn romance. I adore Avery and Jackson, and I really enjoy the shifting dynamics of their personalities. There are plenty of other characters to like. It provides a detailed look into small-town life.
Hero in Waiting satisfied every reason I picked this book. This book is the kickstart of the series, and it has a charming and adorable romance. It will astound you with its captivating plot.
