Book Blurb :

Maddox – Mad Dog – White hates everything the name Vitiello stands for, after he witnessed his father and his men getting butchered by the Capo of the Italian mob in their territory. Raised by his uncle, the president of the Tartarus MC, Maddox is destined to follow in his footsteps. Now their chapter is on the rise again, but for their ultimate triumph they need to destroy the Vitiello empire. And what better way to do it than to steal the spoilt Vitiello princess and break her piece by piece until her father begs for mercy.

Known as the spoilt princess of New York, Marcella Vitiello grew up in a golden cage. If your father is the most feared man in New York, people gift you with reverence.
Destined to marry the boyfriend approved by her father, Marcella is sick of being treated like an untouchable porcelain doll.
She resents the life forced upon her by her family until everything she took for granted is ripped from her. Where she’s now, her name doesn’t bring awe, only pain and humiliation.

If you’ve grown up in a high castle, the fall is all the deeper.

Sins of the fathers have a way of catching up…who’s going to bleed for them?

My Review

By Sin I Rise is an explosive beginning of this series. I have been waiting for a long time to read Marcella's book and the wait was worth it. This book is entirely different from the other books of Cora. It was more mature, stable, focused on the plot, and not centered on desires only. I think this series is going to be a battle choosing between family love or love of life.

This book gives me a more harsh reality of captivity by the enemy, nothing, about this book tells a soft side in the story. The book starts to get darker with every passing phase. It only has a limited fight scene like every Cora book has. I didn't stop reading after starting it.

MARCELLA VITELLO - the name is enough to describe her. Marcella Vitiello has an invisible magnet that pulls you into her. Everything about her is marvelous, her grace, attitude, arrogance, pride. She is a perfect example of beauty with a brain. She is the daughter of her father and mother. The strength she possesses makes me like her too much. The fierce trust and loyalty she has for her father and family are just magnificent, even without seeing her father's dark side and suffering for his sins. Despite suffering from everything, it makes her stronger than before. This book was a journey of her princess to becoming Queen.

Maddox White is a wild biker who only lives for his revenge. The cover is perfect for his character vision. I didn't think there was anyone perfect for Marcella, but then there was Maddox. Maddox is the one who has the guts to look into the eyes of Luca with hatred. Still, I want more from him to define that he will be perfect for his Snow White, equal to her father, not only in protecting but also in love.

Cora gives me more reasons to love Luca in the entire series. Seeing Luca and Aria in a parenting role and their growing love reminds me of the previous books. I expected little presence of Luca in the book, but every space, every thought, every word in this book speaks of Luca. He is everywhere.

Amo steals my attention much more than needed. The impressive improvement in his character made me curious. I thought before that Amo was like Luca, but now after knowing about him. Amo is everything like Luca but much more different from him. I want his book as soon as possible. Reading previous characters is like refreshing every memory about them.

Oh, and the surprise I received from this book. I think it's going to in the next book, but here it is. At least it pleases me to wait for the next book. Read the book to find out about that.

Storyline

Maddox-Mad dog-White hates every Vitiello to the core for mercilessly killing his father and his members of MC by the Capo of Italian Mob. Following the path of his revenge and future president of the MC, one opportunity gives the guarantee of breaking Luca Vitiello piece by piece. It was an ultimate win or either rush choice, even his own destruction.

Marcella Vitiello is sinfully beautiful and raised by the privileged and protected, known as the spoiled princess of New York. She plans her whole life with her boyfriend. Now captured by the enemy of her father, face her the reality of darkness. It not only comes with pain, humiliation, abuse, and suffering, but every second is near to death. Never received a scar in her life, now every dream is filled with violence.

They both have something they both crave in their life. There is no tomorrow if they enter into a mess of feelings. Love in kidnapping never lasts a long, if we really call this a love.

The love or feelings that flourish in captivity need to be tested and tested again in the next book. I am so eager to read the next installment.
